Yorkshire Terrier Day Recognized by TheWoofBookGroup.com

Jan 22, 2020

January 22, 2020 - /PressAdvantage/ - Laguna Niguel, CA - As part of its ongoing series of National Dog Breed Day celebrations, TheWoofBookGroup.com announces January 22nd as National Yorkshire Terrier Day. One of America’s most popular breeds, especially with city dwellers, these compact, toy sized terriers are affectionate and feisty, with loads of personality.

Even though “Yorkies” as they are affectionately called, display a fine glossy, floor length coat which more closely resembles human hair than the usual canine coat, they are anything but dainty in nature. These little terriers are brave, tenacious and sometimes bossy.

Mallory Lahkota, Breed Ambassador for TheWoofBookGroup.com explains, “These little dogs may look elegant, but underneath that pretty coat they are still terriers to the core. Yorkies earned their keep back in the day going after rats in mills and mines, so they don’t lack courage.”

Yorkshire terriers are long lived, with a lifespan ranging from 11 to 15 years. They stand only 7 to 8 inches at the shoulder and weigh about seven pounds. With this breed’s fun and affectionate personality, the Yorkie makes a fine companion animal.

TheWoofBookGroup.com is the fastest growing group on Facebook for dog parents of Yorkies and any other breeds who want a fun, welcoming place to show off their canine companions and socialize with other members.

Dog parents who want to get in on the fun can go to TheWoofBookGroup.com to join the group. Membership is completely free.
