Dallas, TX – November 27, 2019 – Only a few months after its commercial release by eye care innovation company Alcon, the team at Tylock-George Laser Eye Care became the first in Dallas to adopt the AcrySof®IQ PanOptix® Trifocal intraocular lens for patients who undergo cataract surgery. This revolutionary lens had previously become the first and only trifocal IOL to be approved by the FDA.
Tylock-George’s Medical Director, Dr. Michael R. George, expressed his support for the FDA’s decision when it was made earlier this year: “the AcrySof®IQ PanOptix® Trifocal IOL is an important new option that has the potential to provide patients with a full range of vision and significantly reduce any dependence on glasses.”
This advanced IOL is part of an industry-wide movement to provide more options to cataract surgery patients suffering from presbyopia, a condition that causes vision at certain distances to worsen with age.
The PanOptix® trifocal lens uses a proprietary technology to provide crystal clear intermediate vision without sacrificing the ability to see things up close or at a distance. This can provide life-changing benefits to cataract patients who are now able to see the world around them even better than they did before having cataract surgery.
“We’re very proud to be the first in Dallas to offer this innovative IOL to patients who we feel would benefit from it. We feel that our adoption of this first-of-its-kind IOL represents our continuing commitment to the best outcomes for patients who trust us with their vision,” says Dr. George.
The team at Tylock-George encourages patients who think they may be a fit for the PanOptix® Trifocal IOL to schedule a cataract surgery evaluation and learn about their options.
