Las Vegas, United States - February 15, 2018 /MarketersMedia/ —
The Lunar New Year, known throughout the world as “Chinese New Year”, starts off on Friday the 16th, right after Valentine’s day. On Sunday February 18, at 1500 hours, or 3:00pm PT, the oldest-most authentic Thai and Chinese Restaurant in Las Vegas will be ushering in the Year of the Earth Dog along with Martial Artists from the Lohan School of Shaolin as they perform their Legendary Lion Dance ceremony in front of the restaurant.
Kung Fu Thai & Chinese Restaurant has been inviting and staging Traditional Chinese Lion Dances in Las Vegas since 1975, when one of the First Lion Dance was performed in Downtown Las Vegas on 3rd street and Fremont. In 2018, diners who frequent Las Vegas’s oldest and most authentic Thai and Chinese Restaurant will be Seeing RED, since many are tempted to decide which traditions to uphold and honor; the Western Saint Valentines, or the Eastern Lunar New Year. Most will come to the same conclusion and find their own unique way of blending both traditions into one Special Celebration Dinner or Lunch.
“The qualities that this New Lunar Year brings are mostly positive ones,” says Alan Wong, general manager of Kung Fu Restaurant. “This year, being an earth year, expect the world to trend back to its roots for more stability, including the trend to more love towards food, and back to down to earth basics mentality.”
“The traditional Chinese New Year Celebration meal philosophy is no different than the Thanksgiving celebration in Western culture, instead of a Turkey there’s a Duck, Rice in place of Rolls, Stir-Fried Vegetables in place of stuffing’s and potatoes. A feast is still a feast no matter what’s on the table, as long as you have family and friends,” Says Wong.
