August 12, 2020 - /PressAdvantage/ - MedSpa Clubs, a medical spa based in New York City, combines holistic practices with the latest body contouring and facial rejuvenation technology to achieve their client’s goals. The spa is offering IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatment as a solution for painless long term hair removal. MedSpa Clubs was founded by Nikki Zhang, a licensed acupuncturist with over 15 years of experience.
MedSpa Clubs states that its mission is to enhance its clients’ natural beauty rather than radically changing their appearance. MedSpa Clubs only uses non-surgical techniques such as Velashape and LPG Endermologie in conjunction with holistic practices that are based on a deep belief in traditional Chinese medicine. MedSpa Clubs claims that lasting results are achieved by pairing the aforementioned effective physical treatments along with addressing the underlying causes of weight gain or skin conditions.

The founder of MedSpa Clubs, Nikki Zhang, devised the treatment program based on her experience with both cutting edge medical methods and Chinese medicine. She noticed that many body contouring treatments were always short-term and their effect never lasted long enough to be significant. She incorporated holistic considerations into the treatment plans to create real long-lasting results.
When asked about her philosophy, Nikki says, “I am a firm believer in the lasting effectiveness of Chinese herbal medicine. We have all the tools at our disposal to solve problems in the short term but real sustained change can only come about when the root causes of the ailment are narrowed down and treated. I have found that the solution to a complete recovery is hidden in an amalgamation of modern and ancient techniques. I strive to fuse the best of both worlds and find the best solution for my clients’ problems.”
After completing her Bachelor’s degree in China, Nikki Zhang moved on to complete her Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She is licensed to practice Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine in the state of New York and New Jersey.
IPL treatment works by shooting an intense, visible, broad-spectrum pulse of light on to the target area. This light energy is absorbed by specific structures and chromophores in the body like melanin in hair or oxyhemoglobin in blood vessels. The absorbed light energy then gets converted into heat and destroys these pigment cells. This process thus acts as an effective treatment against wrinkles, age spots, sun damage, freckles, birthmarks, varicose veins, broken blood vessels on the face, and rosacea. More information about this process can be found on their Facebook Page.
IPL treatment does not harm the top layer of the skin(epidermis) and only works on hair in its growth cycle. IPL works best for treating even and level swaths of skin. It may not work on uneven parts or areas of skin with thick raised keloid scars. IPL is not recommended for those with darker skin tones.
IPL treatment is similar to laser treatment with the major difference being that the latter only focuses on one wavelength of light. An advantage of IPL compared to laser treatment is that it is often more affordable as the latter is associated with prohibitive costs. Another area of distinction is that the treatment times are faster for the IPL. IPL also covers more area per session compared to laser treatment. However, IPL will require more sessions (about 5 to 7 sessions for most people) as the light is more scattered and less focussed. So comparatively, laser treatment will cover a lesser area but require fewer sessions to treat.
