Kibow's focus has always been delaying the need for dialysis, especially in late-stage CKD III and IV (predialysis) patients with it's patented and proprietary probiotic formulation, Renadyl™. In this regard, Kibow has submitted a proposal on its innovative "Intestinal Dialysis™ Technology" for the KidneyX Phase 2 prize competition and hopes to be a serious contender in this new KidneyX initiative.

Additionally, Kibow has launched a separate pharmaceutical division to transition its kidney health supplement Renadyl to a drug in the Live Biotherapeutic Product (LBP) category. The company has initiated the IND submission process under the Center for Biological Evaluation Research (CBER) and the US FDA regulations and is planning the required clinical trials. This will allow for potential medical reimbursement by private insurers and government health systems like Medicare. Kibow's aim is to make the product more affordable for patients worldwide. This can make a huge impact in possibly reducing the duration of dialysis from four hours to three hours or less and/or reducing its frequency, from three times to two times per week. This could save the US healthcare system between $8.5B and $11.3B in dialysis costs and, more importantly, improve patients' outcomes and raise their Quality of Life (QoL).
