Durham, NC Body Affirming Massage Therapy For LGBTQ+ & BIPOC: Service Update
Apr 10, 2023
Auroraflow (919-229-9555) has announced a wide array of therapeutic services for members of LGBTQ+ and BIPOC in Durham, NC, and the surrounding areas.
Durham, United States - April 10, 2023 /PressCable/ —
The spa seeks to enrich and enhance the lives of its members by providing wellness experiences that are accessible to everyone, particularly those in historically marginalized groups. The spa offers a variety of treatments, including massage therapy, reiki, waxing, and facials.
More details can be found at https://www.auroraflow.com
Auroraflow was started by queer couple Castle Frame and Lauren McCullough in response to a lack of inclusive self-care and healing treatments available to the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities. “We pride ourselves on shaking up the ‘spa model’ by providing customized treatments and experiences that reimagine wellness for people of all backgrounds and walks of life,” said a spokesperson for the business.
The spa provides many treatments that other spas offer, only with emphasis placed on accommodating everyone. Particularly popular are their massage treatments, which include therapeutic, sports, ashiatsu (barefoot), Thai, prenatal, and reflexology. Also available is their featured treatment for April, the TMJ Tune-Up, which gently releases pain in the jaw.
Auroraflow also has licensed reiki practitioners on staff. Reiki is a Japanese healing art meant to balance chakras by transferring energy from the practitioner to the recipient, helping resolve emotional stress, improve relaxation, and promote spiritual wellness.
Lastly, Auroraflow also provides hair removal treatments tailored to the client’s skin and hair type. Included in their offerings are The Grizzly (beard facial), Hale and Hush Facial, and Full Body and Facial Hair Removal.
The treatments are body- and gender-affirming and are designed to exfoliate the skin and leave it feeling rejuvenated. With upkeep and regular appointments, some customers also start to see hair removal permanence.
“The few times I’ve been to Auroraflow so far I’ve always felt welcome,” said a satisfied client. “They go above and beyond to ensure your specific needs are met no matter who you are. I’ve felt alienated at other spas, but not at Auroraflow, and that’s really comforting.”

‘Opportunistic’: experts weigh Manila’s minilateral agenda ahead of Trump-Xi meeting
The Philippines’ dual push for stronger “minilateral” defence links and a more robust Asean security role is dividing analysts, with one calling the move “opportunistic”. Some experts view Manila’s advocacy for the “Squad” alliance as a strategic opportunity to deepen core security partnerships while chairing the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. Others question how much actual weight is carried by this informal defence grouping – comprising the United States, the Philippines, Japan and...

Europe considers new quotas and tariffs to stem Chinese imports
The European Union may hit more Chinese industries with quotas or tariffs before further negotiations with Beijing, the bloc’s trade chief said on Friday, naming plastics as a sector in which investigations are advanced. Maros Sefcovic said that when the bloc needs to move quickly to protect its industries, it will consider safeguards, which allow emergency measures to curb surges in imports, instead of engaging in longer negotiations. “We clearly will have to put it in order, prioritise, and...
Coach of China’s women’s football team leaves post eight months before World Cup
Ante Milicic has left his post as coach of China’s national women’s team, the football association said on Friday, eight months before the World Cup. The 52-year-old Australian had been in charge since May 2024 and led the team to the semi-finals of the Women’s Asian Cup in March. That finish earned them a spot at next year’s World Cup in Brazil. Milicic also recently took China to fourth place at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games in Japan after losing 2-0 to North Korea in the semi-finals. “After...
