New York City, New York Jun 30, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - Dr. Zaka is a well-versed nephrologist & hospitalist in practice with Academic Internal Medicine Specialists in Southfield, Michigan. He also holds hospital privileges at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital - Clinton Township.
Academic Internal Medicine Specialists (AIMS) is an academic hospitalist practice that specializes in the ever-changing, high-tech care of acute adult inpatients. Its mission is, quite simply, to provide the highest standard of care.
"Our staff of physicians is specially trained to treat the complex needs of adult patients who are sick or recovering from surgery in the hospital. Working as a partner with your Primary Care Physician, AIMS provides 24/7 delivery of hospital medical care. You'll have someone who knows the hospital system on your side, securing the best care for you" as stated on their website.
With a touch of simplicity, creativity, and humor, Dr. Zaka helps patients navigate the complicated hospital course. He has seen how medicine has moved from paper to screen, and patient care from bedside to keyboards. In this rapidly evolving system, he remains a strong advocate of personal touch in medicine.
A firm believer that patients are overtested and overtreated, he is more interested in common conditions commonly missed, without ignoring rare diseases rarely diagnosed.
Despite his classical view of medicine, he practices and promotes innovation and research. He believes that everyone should have access to healthcare, and he considers telemedicine a significant leap in the field of medicine.
Back in 2008, Dr. Zaka graduated with his medical degree from Allama Iqbal Medical College in Pakistan. Upon relocating to the United States, he performed his residency in internal medicine at SUNY at Buffalo Affiliated Hospital in 2014, and his fellowship in nephrology at Ascension St John Hospital in 2020.
A Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Nephrology is a specialty of medicine and pediatric medicine that concerns itself with the kidneys: the study of normal kidney function and kidney disease, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney disease, from diet and medication to renal replacement therapy. A nephrologist is a medical doctor who specializes in kidney care and treating diseases of the kidneys.
Hospital medicine is a medical specialty that exists in some countries as a branch of internal or family medicine, dealing with the care of acutely ill hospitalized patients. Physicians whose primary professional focus is caring for hospitalized patients only while they are in the hospital are called hospitalists.
When he is not practicing medicine, Dr. Zaka enjoys spending time with his family, sitting in his backyard, reading, and writing. He speaks multiple languages, including English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu.
