Author D. D. Simpson's New Book 'Gardenia's Garden: Trusting in God's Path' is the Inspirational Tale of a Single Mother and How She Managed to Keep Her Family Afloat
Jun 1, 2021
D. D. Simpson has completed her new book "Gardenia's Garden: Trusting in God's Path": a gripping story of inspiration that spread from mother to daughter through struggling to the other side. Readers will love the clarity of Gardenia's character and what she passed to her children.
Simpson writes, "When a handsome, smooth-talking college student asked my 16-year-old mother to be his wife, she gave little consideration to the long-term consequences of accepting such a proposal. So, with little introspection given to whether or not she was ready, and even less toward her suitor, my mom blindly accepted. It didn't take long after the ceremony for her eyes to open, and realize she'd married an abusive drunk, aka my father… he left to buy a bottle of tequila and never came back. Unlike my father, my mother never gave up. She worked day and night, doing whatever necessary to keep a roof over her family's head and food on the table.
"At a very young age, I promised myself when it was my time to marry that I would be patient and learn from my mother's misfortune. Sadly, however, it was a promise I wasn't able to keep. Instead, in the blink of an eye, I found myself going down the same broken dirt road my mother once traveled. It was years later, when I found myself sitting on a moonlit beach in Corpus Christi, Texas, that I began questioning my very existence…I wondered…did God still have another path left for me to travel?" said D. D. Simpson.
Published by Newman Springs Publishing, D. D. Simpson's potent tale is one of fortitude and bravery in the face of the real difficulties of life. Gardenia protected her family with her resilience and faith through the darkest of their days.

As US-Iran war shows, China’s influence can’t secure its line to Gulf oil
China is becoming increasingly important to the Gulf’s economic future. Yet the Gulf remains capable of disrupting China’s own. That is the contradiction exposed by the US-Iran war. Beijing’s importance as an energy customer, investor and technology partner has grown, but its ability to guarantee the maritime routes connecting the Middle East to East Asia remains limited. The next contest in global energy will concern not only who produces and consumes it, but who can preserve access when...
