FoundryCut, a US direct-to-consumer jewelry brand selling men’s rings for all occasions, today released the results of its Men’s Wedding Band Survey 2026.
Los Angeles, California, United States, November 7, 2026 -- The online survey of 379 US men who married within the last five years or are currently engaged looks at how men choose, buy and wear their wedding bands. Full results and the methodology are published on the FoundryCut survey results page.

1 in 7 married men has lost a wedding band
Key findings

3 in 10 men went over their wedding band budget
Men are buying rings beyond the wedding band
Three in four respondents bought or received a ring for themselves in the last three years besides a wedding band. Anniversary rings (28%), rings bought just for style (25%) and birthday or holiday gifts (20%) were the most common, and 12% received a ring for Father’s Day.
“Most of the attention at a wedding goes to the engagement ring, but the groom’s band is the ring he wears every day, and a lot can happen to it. We ran this survey because current numbers on how men buy and wear their bands were hard to find, and we published the full results so couples, jewelers and writers can use them,” said Stephen Chen, founder of FoundryCut.

69% of respondents bought or plan to buy their band in a store, compared with 20% who used an online jewelry brand or online maker and 5% who used Amazon or another marketplace. Walking into a store (28%), a Google search (23%) and a recommendation from family or friends (23%) were the most common ways men first found where they bought.

Methodology
FoundryCut commissioned the survey through Pollfish, an online survey platform. 379 US men aged 18 to 54 completed it between November 1 and November 5, 2026. Respondents reported being married within the last five years (243) or currently engaged (136). Questions about owning and wearing a band are reported for married respondents where noted. The sample is a non-probability online panel, and results are unweighted and rounded to the nearest whole percent. The margin of error is about plus or minus 5 percentage points at 95 percent confidence for the full sample and about plus or minus 6 points for married respondents. Full question wording and toplines are available by email.
